| Hello I am English Bob and
welcome to my 2001 Mustang Bullitt web site. I started this web
page as a place to save some pictures I had been
collecting of a concept car with unique Bullitt
badges. Unlike some other concept cars this one
was put into production and my collection of
pictures has kept growing. I was not looking for
a Mustang but this car struck a note with me. I
like old movies and when I was 12 my
brother-in-law had a blue 289 stick shift, 1968
Fastback with black interior. I spent a lot of
time with my sister and brother-in-law and we
went all over London in this awesome sounding
car. It got to 120 mph but it rattled like mad
and it sounded like the doors were going to fall
off. It was well past it's 'sell by date' but
rust free and solid and the sound of this car and
experience, stuck with me and ingrained something
in my young mind.
I feel the
2001 Bullitt Mustang, was made to pay homage to
the era and the classic 1968 movie called
Bullitt, in which Steve McQueen played the title
role of Lt. Frank Bullitt a tough detective in
San Francisco. His personal car in the movie, was
a 1968 Fastback Mustang. This movie was famous
for a iconic high speed car chase with his
Fastback Mustang and Black Charger. Because his
personal car in the movie, was a green 1968
fastback Mustang, this has become distorted over
time to be called the Mustang in Bullitt to, The
"Bullitt" Mustang, or the original
Bullitt Mustang.
The 2001
Bullitt Mustang GT, is not a fastback or a 60's
car but it pays homage or a tribute to the movie
and the era, so it was right to be offered in
other colours, other than green because it is NOT
a copy of a car it can never be. In fact the 2001
Bullitt Mustang is the original Bullitt Mustang,
as it was the first car to be licensed through
Ford and Warner Brothers to bear the name and
badge, "Bullitt."
This
simple web page is just for fun and to let
visitors see pictures of this limited edition
car. There is also information on the 2001 Ford
Mustang Bullitt GT, which was only available only in
2001. The total production run of this
understated and beautiful car was just 5582 units
which broke down as, 3041 in Green, 1818 in Black
and 723 in True Blue. The green was unique to the
Bullitt and not available on any other Mustang.
True blue was also a new colour for 2001 but the
blue was available on other Mustangs as well. The
black was available on the Bullitt and the other
Mustangs.

Bullitt Mustangs. If you have a Bullitt then send
me some info and pictures and I will do my best
to include them.
Have a
