True Blue Bullitt #2370 "Stray Bullitt."

The first ever Bullitt Nationals took place during the 12th Annual Fun Ford Weekend Ford Mustang World Finals in Ennis, Texas, on September 21-22. With over 60 Bullitt Mustang GTs hitting the target in Ennis, a Bullitt has to be, well, truly unique to catch the attention of people, judges, and even magazine editors. With that in mind, Marcus Johnson transformed his True Blue Bullitt, number 2370, into what he defines as the "Stray Bullitt."
Johnson’s Bullitt is one of the rarest of all Bullitt Mustangs; only 723 of the 5,582 that left Dearborn wore True Blue paint. Then Marcus contacted American Racing for the 20-inch Torque Thrust wheels to replace the factory wheels. Up front the wheels measure 20x8 and 20x10 in the rear. Those "O-rings" that pass as tires are Bridgestone Potenza S-03s, P285 30R20s on the rear and P255 35R20s on the front. To lower the car on the 20s, Marcus dropped his Bullitt another two inches with Ford Racing springs front and rear.

To compliment the interior, Marcus added a plethora of billet accessories to his Bullitt.
Almost the entire line of UPR’s billet switches and knobs were used to accent the all black interior. One neat accessory is the Smart Tire, a tire monitor that ensures all tires are properly inflated.
That’s a good insurance policy on nearly $3,000 worth of tires and wheels. To increase the report
of his Bullitt, Marcus is in the process of installing a Kenwood stereo system.

Under the hood is another area Marcus spent plenty of time finely detailing the engine. The unique Bullitt intake was custom painted along with the cam covers. A chrome BBK cold air kit set the tone for all the other bits and pieces that have been chromed orpolished. The caster chamber plates are UPR’s new "Shark" plates attached to Tokico struts. To help the flow and voice of the exhaust, a Dr. Gas X-pipe sits between the manifolds and mufflers.

So how did this Stray Bullitt fare in the first-ever Bullitt Nationals? It went home with a Gold Award for Best Modified Bullitt and Muscle Mustangs & Fast Ford’s Editor’s Choice in the FFW car show, not to mention the Team Mustang Award for Best Mustang.

Additionally, Team Mustang Customization Manager Scott Hoag and Austin Craig from J. Walter Thompson autographed the engine compartment. Not a bad weekend for a Stray Bullitt.

The factory GT fender emblems were replaced with ‘60’s vintage GT badges from a Torino; the grille emblem was also replaced with a Hi-Po 289 badge. Another custom body enhancement was the C-pillar scoops that capture the heritage of the 1967-68 Shelby Mustangs.
